Easter Weekend (Good and Bad)

Donald and I traveled to Abilene Saturday afternoon. We stopped at Whitney and Jasons house and Morgan ran out to greet us with Lacey dog. She was going 90 to nothing. We visited for a bit then went to eat. We went home and just enjoyed visiting and I gave Whitney and Morgan a pedicure. Whitney claims she can't reach her toes anymore. Jason and I read Morgan a few stories and she dropped off to sleep. Did not take PaPaw long to crash after that. Jason put in grades and Whit and I watched two episodes of Dateline together and felt and watched little Kennedy kicking and tumbling up a storm. Finally we turned in for the night.

Sunday we got up and went to church. Ok, my stomach was feeling a little funny but I thought it will go away in a little while. During church they showed a slide of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and said to get your children close and tell them the story. Whit had Morgan in her lap and Jason leaned over and told her the story. She was so tuned into what he had to say and took it all in. As I watched, I had chills run up and down my body just seeing how great a father Jason is to Morgan. It touched me so to see him tell her the story and teach her about Jesus Christ. Jason bought her a Bible story book for Fathers and Daughters and they share a story each night. Now how great is that? I am so thankful for the father that he is to Morgan. (Morgan, one word of advice to you when you grow up...and please remember this...When you look for the man of your life, look for one that has the same qualities as your dad and you will be just fine.) Jason, just want you to know how proud we are of you for the job that you are doing as a father and husband. We could not be more proud of you!!!!

Now for the bad side of the weekend...I ended up sick and had to leave out of church and we had to miss Morgan hunting Easter eggs. But with that, we still had a great time just visiting with Jason, Whitney and Morgan. Ashley and Jordan, we had planned to stay until you all got home so we could see you all but I figured I did not need to be there to expose anyone if I could help it. Glad you all had a great time. I know Morgan enjoyed babysitting Lacey.

WINTER WONDERLAND

Actually this snow was on Thursday. I thought it was pretty so ran out at lunch and snapped a picture. The weekend weather was great and tonight we are having thunderstorms. Who knows what this Texas weather will be from one day to the next. I am going to try and get a shot on here of the horses eating at the round bale. We will see if they show up since I took their picture from a distance.

BULL RIDING CHAMPIONSHIP

Saturday morning Donald and I left for Ft. Worth to go to the Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Championship. We drove through Jacksboro and went into Ft. Richardson to check out the campgrounds. It was a really neat place and we plan to make a weekend of camping there real soon. That got us fired up on camping again. We went to Camping World where we picked up a few items for the camper and went onto Cabelas. We stayed a couple of hours there and decided it was time to head out to find a place to stay over night. Ok, now don't laught at me. Thanks Ashley for letting me borrow the boots!! I actually felt pretty comfortable in them. We got ready and went to Haufbraues Steak House for dinner. The whole meal was delicious. I told Donald that was the best steak I think I have ever had (so if you are ever near one I suggest trying it out). We arrived at the coliseum around 7 for the bull riding. It was great....except for the rude people that buy general admission tickets then try and sit in reserved seats. Needless to say, we missed about the first 5 riders because people were late and then had to run someone out of their seats while they stood up in front of you. Next, people were there to run back and forth and over you to go get their beer instead of watching the riders. There were 45 riders and then the top 10 rode again. One guy got hung up with a spur in the bull rope. It was terrible and seemed like forever till he got loose. There were about 10 guys hanging on the bull trying to get him loose. Once he was freed he walked out of the arena in pretty good shape. Some little bull riders, age 10 to 13 rode steers next. They were actually pretty good. Jason Bolin played after the bull riding. We did not know he was going to be there so that was a nice little extra. We gave it up about 11:30 and headed back to the motel.

Sunday we went to Cowtown and had lunch at Joe T's. We walked around Cowtown and browsed some stores for awhile. I told Donald, that it was kind of fun to just take your time and look around and not be on a schedule. The weather in Ft. Worth was a perfect 66 degrees and no wind. We left and headed to Muenster to pick up the meat from a hog we had butchered. Hey Whit, I found the dried jalapeno pepper flakes that I have been looking for. Well, we have 200 pounds of meat to share with all you girls and hubbies. We barely got it all to fit in our freezer.

Needles to say, we had a "great" time this weekend. It was enjoyable to go and just spend time with one another. Now, I am ready to stay home for a weekend or two.

Missy, you need to update your blog??????

Ok, Iknow it has been two weeks since I have posted what's going on with me but I have been busy working on all you guys tax returns. Now what had you rather me do, post on my blog or get your tax return done? Ashley was the one that said the "Missy" line. Now imagine that.

Well to catch up I will fill you in on all my activities. About two weeks ago Mondie, MaMaw, Shelbi, Peyton and I went to Abilene to get Peyton's pictures made by Ashley. (Check out her blog and look at her photography blog and you can see his pictures). We did a little shopping and as usual "ate". Whitney and Morgan met us for the day. Morgan was Miss Mommy all day. Whitney, Morgan and I went to the Junk Warehouse while they were doing pictures. It is a neat store.

Thursday night we took Star to a guy in Throckmorton to be broke. We met Whitney and Jason at Ft. Griffin and picked up Morgan. Morgan stayed with MaMaw on Friday and when we got off of work we headed to meet Kim and Scott at Waxahachie. Fifteen minutes before we got there, Morgan started saying I want BeBe over and over again. Saturday morning we got up and met with their realtor to look at some houses they had picked out. It was a stressful day and about mid afternoon we went back to the motel and all took a nap. Sunday morning Kim and Scott had limited their choices down to two houses so we went back and looked at those one more time. I think they decided on one and made an offer. We headed back for home after lunch. Morgan slept all the way. She was exhausted. We met Jason in Breckenridge and then headed back to Olney. Needless to say, I was pretty worn out myself.

We had a good time and it was fun looking in the houses and all. I am glad it is them moving and not me though. We look forward to having them back a little closer once again.

Ashley and Jordan have been busy on their yard, Whitney and Jason are busy getting things ready for the new baby, and Kim and Scott are busy looking for a new home. Sounds like a lot going on in my family. Whew...I am tired. No, it is all fun but I can sure tell I am getting older.

Guess what? Donald and I are actually taking a trip by ourselves this weeked. We are going to Ft. Worth to Camping World and Cabelas and then Saturday night we are going to the Tuff Hedeman PBR Championship. I am looking forward to that. Hope I get to see Justin McBride. Ha, the girls know what I mean about that. I hope it will be a nice relaxful weekend and I look forward to spending some quality time with my husband and just enjoy our time and not be on any stressful schedule. (In fact, I may be relaxing in the cafe inside Cabelas drinking coffee or tea if he prolongs that too much). Ha!

GANA AND PA PAW #3

Yes, we found out last Wednesday that we were going to be grandparents again. Kim and Scott are expexcting their first baby in October. When I got home from church Wednesday night Kim was calling me and telling me to check my email. I started wondering right then...is she pregnant. Well, I opened my email and got this picture of Scott peeking to see if the test showed positive. We were in total shock because we did not know they were working on this little project yet. Even though we knew, the WHOLE family had to keep it a secret until this weekend when they told Scott's parents. It is his dad's birthday and they wanted to tell them then. Kim, can you believe we were actually really able to keep the secret and not slip? We all did good didn't we. Well, we are really excited. Looks like the Cagle house will have lots of entertainment at Christmas this year with three little ones around. Oh my, I better rest up. We are all really excited for both new additions. Congratulations Kim and Scott.
