Leighton Grace Phillips Arrives

Grandbaby number four arrived on March 10, 2011 at 5:09 p.m. Miss Leighton Grace Phillips weighed in at 6 lbs. 7 ounces and was 18.25 inches long. She is beautiful and perfect and will be a blessing to us all. She is such an answered prayer for Ashley and Jordan and we are all so thankful for her safe arrival. It took a little longer for her to be born that day than we all expected but her poor mom had to have three epidurals before they finally got one to work so they kept having to slow things down so the pain could be kept under control.

There were lots of love ones there that day to welcome Leighton into this world. Once again we are all so thankful for her birth and look forward to watching her grow up and just loving her to pieces. Love you so much Leighton!!

Baby Shower for Ashley & Leighton

Ashley had a great baby shower and the weather cooperated so that everyone was able to get there and back home before the next winter weather hit. As you can see in the pictures Ashley had lots of little helpers with her gifts. I believe she got everything she needed plus some. Thanks to all that made the trip and to all the ladies that gave the shower.

Christmas 2010 : New Years Weekend

Although I am a whole lot behind on getting this posted, here it finally is. I have a ton of pictures but I give up and this will be all you get. The three little grandkids came down early and spent a few days with us before the rest of the crew got here. They had a blast and the weather cooperated so that we were able to be outside some. They woke up and requested Gana's Mickey Mouse pancakes. (I definitely have decided that I may need to invest in a griddle to be able to supply enough of them to my expanding # of little ones). They enjoyed dancing to the little snowman boogy song, riding the little jeep, the Ranger and Morgan and Kennedy brought their bike and 4 wheeler down. We even ventured out to the deer lease one afternoon thinking we could be quiet enough to sit in the stand and see some deer. Yeah right. They were sticking their heads out of the deer stand and then you would hear Cooper holler, Gana. Sorry to say we did not see any deer but they had fun out in the pasture and then riding back to the road in the back of the pickup and also hearing the coyotes howling. Our next little thing was decorating the Ranger before the parents got there. It was decorated with packages and lights and each couple was escorted in by the "Ranger Express" as they drove into the home place that evening. I know it may have been goofy but the kids thought it was fun.

We had lots of food, packages and family fun. We even played a little "Twister" I tried to talk Ashley into it but she didn't think she could handle that. Ha! I believe everyone liked all their presents and all turned out well except for Kim being a little under the weather and having to leave early to go back home to the Dr.
It was a short weekend Christmas that we had on NewYear's weekend but hey, that works for us. Thank everyone for coming and we will be having even more here next year!!!!! Merry Christmas to All and Love you all.

Boy or Girl???

Today was the big day to find out if Ashley and Jordan were having a boy or a girl. I was able to go to Abilene and go with them to see the sonogram that revealed the news. The Dr. showed that part to us the very first thing. I think we were all excited and a few were a little shocked that just thought for sure it was a boy. My guess was girl all along. Ha! The baby is perfectly healthy and right on course with her growth and all, and that is the MOST important thing to us all. The due date is March 21.

After the sonogram and the regular Dr visit, we did a little baby girl shopping and picked up a few little outfits. I am sure Ashley will have pictures posted on her blog of the outfits and sonogram pictures so you can check with her on those.

It was a fun day and a relief to know that Ms. Leighton Grace is healthy and strong. Thanks, Ashley and Jordan for sharing this special time with us today! It's going to be fun I promise you that.
