GANA AND PA PAW #3

Yes, we found out last Wednesday that we were going to be grandparents again. Kim and Scott are expexcting their first baby in October. When I got home from church Wednesday night Kim was calling me and telling me to check my email. I started wondering right then...is she pregnant. Well, I opened my email and got this picture of Scott peeking to see if the test showed positive. We were in total shock because we did not know they were working on this little project yet. Even though we knew, the WHOLE family had to keep it a secret until this weekend when they told Scott's parents. It is his dad's birthday and they wanted to tell them then. Kim, can you believe we were actually really able to keep the secret and not slip? We all did good didn't we. Well, we are really excited. Looks like the Cagle house will have lots of entertainment at Christmas this year with three little ones around. Oh my, I better rest up. We are all really excited for both new additions. Congratulations Kim and Scott.

Morgan's Weekend in Olney

Morgan came and spent the weekend with us a couple of weeks ago. MaMaw brought home a Gingerbread house from the Sr Citizens Center and gave it to Morgan. Sure enough she insisted that we work on it that night when I got home from work. Well, we did and then again Sat. afternoon. I have never done one of those and I can tell you it was not easy. I put it together and let Morgan do the decorating. (Well we did not get the top to ever stay on without falling in so she had a topless gingerbread house). She had fun doing it and eating some of the icing and the candy anyways. We went to Wichita Saturday to run a couple of errands. Morgan wanted to go the mall of course. We ended up in The Children's Place and of course I could not resist buying her some things. I bought a little dress for "Kennedy" too. The suit she has on was one of them and her little flip flops. She could not wait until she got home to put them all on. I had to wash them so she could wear them home Sunday. Morgan enjoyed riding her little jeep and making her visit down to MaMaw's house and feeding the horses. We had a good weekend and as usual I hated to see her go home.

The following weekend we went to Abilene on Friday night to keep Morgan so Whitney and Jason could attend an event at ASU inducting his college friend that was killed in a car accident into the Hall of Fame. We had supper with Ashley and Jordan and dropped them off at their house. Their new trees and shrubs looked great. Morgan was tired so we took her home and put her to bed. She told Ganna and PaPaw that she was not going to sleep with anyone that was coughing (and that was me) so Donald slept with her and I got the couch. The next day Morgan asked when she could come to Olney and stay a long, long time. I told her to just call and I would pick her up anytime.

Saturday we left Abilene around 9:30 to head to Lubbock to attend the funeral of Donald's Aunt Geneva. It was nice to see the Cagle family again. We are hoping to get a Cagle family reunion planned this summer. Needless to say we were pretty tired when we got in Saturday night, especially since Donald and I both had bad colds. The weather was beautiful this weekend and we did enjoy getting to be outside some on Sunday.

I have my garden plowed so we will be planting some soon. Guess I will have plenty to share with all the kids. I am looking forward to Spring and being outside and getting the yard all done.

SAD DAY IN FEBRUARY

YESTERDAY WE LOST OUR SWEET LITTLE SAMBO. HE WAS OUR TWO YEAR OLD COLT THAT WAS IDENTICAL TO HIS MOM "IDA". I WAS DRIVING OFF TO WORK AND AS USUAL I ALWAYS LOOK OUT AND CHECK ON THE HORSES. I SAW LITTLE SAMBO LYING ON THE GROUND AND COULD TELL HIS STOMACH WAS SWOLLEN. I THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD. I HONKED MY HORN AND DROVE UP TO THE GATE AND STARTED CALLING HIS NAME. HE GENTLY LIFTED HIS HEAD ONLY A LITTLE BIT. I RAN OUT TO SEE ABOUT HIM AND WHEN I TOOK A LOOK I KNEW IT WAS BAD. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED DONALD AT WORK AND THEN CALLED DON, OUR VET WHO CAME RIGHT ON OUT. I SAT THERE AND STROKED HIS HEAD TO TRY AND COMFORT HIM. HE LOOKED AT ME WITH THOSE BIG EYES AS TO SAY THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME. I HAD TO WALK OFF BECAUSE STAR CAME BAILING OVER AND KICKING AND ALMOST GOT ME.

DONALD CAME AND HALTERED HIM AND LED HIM TO THE PEN. HE WAS IN SUCH PAIN AND SO SWOLLEN. DON TOOK A LOOK AND SAID THERE IS NO GUT SOUND SO THAT MEANT HE HAD A TWISTED GUT OR WAS IMPACTED. ALL WE COULD DO WAS PUT HIM OUT OF HIS PAIN. AS DON WENT TO GET THE SHOT READY AND DONALD HELD LITTLE SAMBO, I PUT MY HEAD AGAINST HIS AND TOLD HIM I WAS SORRY AND THAT WE LOVED HIM. HE SNUGGLED WITH ME. IT WAS SO SAD TO SEE THIS BUT WE DID NOT WANT HIM TO HAVE TO SUFFER ANYMORE. DON GAVE HIM THE SHOT AND IMMEDIATELY HE WENT DOWN.

LITTLE SAMBO HAD ONLY A SHORT LIFE BUT I CAN SAY HE HAD THE BEST LIFE A HORSE COULD ASK FOR. HE WAS FED AND TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF AND RECEIVED LOTS OF LOVE. THEY ALWAYS COME TO THE FENCE WHEN YOU GO OUTSIDE WANTING TO BE PETTED. MORGAN EVEN GOT TO GIVE HIM ONE LAST PET ON SUNDAY . YES IT WAS TERRIBLE TO HAVE TO SEE HIM GO THIS WAY BUT I AM GLAD TO SAY I GOT TO LOVE HIM AND TELL HIM GOOD BYE ONE MORE TIME.

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!

WELL WHITNEY WENT FOR HER OFFICIAL SONOGRAM THIS MORNING....GUESS WHAT? IT'S A GIRL. YES A GIRL, 110%. I HAD TO CALL AND TELL DONALD HE WAS NOT GETTING THAT GRANDSON. THE FIRST SONOGRAM WAS SUPPOSEDLY 80% A BOY. WE ARE STILL EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY. CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE A WHOLE HOUSEFUL OF THEM. OK, KIM AND SCOTT, YOU ARE NEXT.

My CUP WAS FILLED

DONALD AND I WENT TO HUTTO THIS LAST WEEKEND TO VISIT KIM AND SCOTT. AS USUAL KIM FILLED OUR CUPS. KIM IS ALWAYS GLAD TO SEE US AS WE ARE MORE THAN GLAD TO SEE HER. SHE GAVE ME MY USUAL EYEBROW PLUCKING AND CUT DONALD'S HAIR. THE GIRLS WENT TO STEINMART AND THE GUYS TO SPORTSMAN WAREHOUSE. WE ATE AT HULA HUT AND HAD HAMBURGERS AT CHILI'S. KIM FIXED CINNABON ROLLS FOR BREAKFAST. WE DID GET ALL THE KITCHEN THINGS WRAPPED AND PACKED DOWN. THE WEEKEND WENT WAY TO FAST BUT WE CAME AWAY WITH OUR CUP OVER FLOWING. KIM IS ALWAYS SO KIND AND LOVING AND CARING ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING GOING ON THE SALE OF THEIR HOME AND SHOULD BE FINALIZING THAT SOON. WE WISH THEM THE BEST ON THEIR NEW LOCATION.
