I am just a little behind on posting mother's birthday picture. it was Sept.11,2008. Mondie, Dale, Donald and I took her to Montanna's in Graham for her birthday dinner then went by and said hello to Great Granny. Happy Birthday Mother. I love you!

Weekend with the Girls....

I finally decided to post about the prior two weekends. I met Whitney in Abilene on Thursday night. We left Friday morning for Midlothian, but stopped in Ft. Worth and shopped at SteinMart and Hulen Mall. We made it to Kim's house around 7 that night. Kim had fixed chicken parmesan for us. Saturday morning Kim, Whit, Kennedy and I left for Babies r Us and the Parks Mall in Arlington. We actually spent almost three hours in Babies r Us. It has everything you could ever want for a baby there and very cute, inexpensive clothes. I had already spent pretty much my limit on grand babies before I went there but did pick up a couple of suits for Kennedy there since I had not bought her many things. We had lunch at LaMadelines and finished out the day at the mall, then met Donald and Scott at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner that night. We were all pretty tired and little Kennedy was a trooper the whole day. We told Whit she would be spoiled the next week because we all carried her around so much. It was nice because I actually got some bonding time with her. Morgan was in Houston with Gran Jan, having a great time so I caught up on some time with Kennedy. Kim and Scott enjoyed playing mommy and daddy to her also. I am glad they got to spend some time with her and learn her little ways since they will keep Kennedy and Morgan next weekend. I think Whit got a little bit caught up on some rest and a little free time during the weekend, so that was good. We were all ready to dive in and take care of Kennedy and focus on her. Hey, she even got to sit in "Cooper's little chair. We went to church with Kim and Scott and had lunch then Whit, Kennedy and I headed for Abilene. The trip was good and we ran into heavy rain a few miles outside of Abilene. We drove to the house and unloaded everything and it was still pouring down. We decided to go to The Crackerbarrel and eat until the rain let up so I could drive back to Olney. It was a fun weekend and I think everyone enjoyed being together. I really enjoyed my bonding time with little Kennedy. She is such a sweet and good little baby. She would just grin and talk to you. I did have to do some catching up on my rest at night during the next week though.

This last weekend Ash and Jordan came to Olney. Ashley did not get to go shopping with us due to work activities last weekend so she and I had our own little shopping trip. It has been a long time since we have had time together "just the girls" time. She said she was craving Hunan's and I said I had been too but could never get Donald to go there. So guess what? We ate there for lunch and it was delicious. We shopped some and Ash got a few things at the mall and I bought a pair of capri pants on sale for $10 and that was it for me. It was good to have time to visit and talk just the two of us. We all went to church Sunday and Ash had requested tacos for lunch so we had that and buttermilk pie. After lunch we talked "Cowgirl Ashley" into riding Ginger. Hey, Jordan even got in on that little deal. They headed back to Abilene and I came in a took a short nap before church.

I am looking forward to the Labor Day Weekend and having an extra day at home. I definitely need to get a few chores done around the house because it will be about the last weekend that there is not something going on for awhile. ACU football games will be starting, Miss Morgan will be turning 4 and we will have her big party!!! Won't be long till little "Cooper" will be here and before you know it, Christmas! My how time flies.

Grandparents....What We Won't Do

Actually we got up and left at 5:30 this morning to go look at a pony for Morgan. She was located in Commerce, Tx. We now have a new addition to our family. She is the cutest little sorrel pony with a blaze face, long flaxen tail and mane. She is the sweetest little thing and seems to have settled in good here at the house. Her name is "Ginger". Morgan told us she wanted a pink pony and I think she is as close to that as we can get.

Donald said we sure are spoiling our grandkids, and I said yes, but isn't it fun. (Keep this a surprise from Morgan because we are surprising her at her birthday party with this little horse.)!!!!!!! By the way the owner says she likes to eat cupcakes too!

By the way Kennedy and Cooper, and ???????, it will be your horse to enjoy too. I bet we get the use out of her from all of our little ones and those to follow. I guess "Ginger" will be another one for me to pet on.


It has been a long day but I guess another mission has been accomplished. Now we just have to hold our secret in until September and Morgan's birthday.

Vacation in Nashville

The flowers were beautiful there. We found the Loveless Cafe and enjoyed several meals there. They had the best homemade biscuits there. We were acting goofy in those pictures with our heads stuck in the face cut outs. The first night there we went into "The Stage". There was a group called "Savanna Jack" performing there. They were really good. When we went out to eat that night the waiter said, you all are some serious tea drinkers. We laughed because if you know us we love tea! We visited the Hard Rock Cafe and the Wild Horse Saloon. We did a Tour of the Stars Homes and saw Martina McBride, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Dolly Pardon and LeeAnn Rimes homes. I told Donald we really should not tell anyone but, we went back to the motel Monday night to watch the Bachelorette and then went out again. The next day we went over to Opryland and went to the Gaylord. It was really pretty. We found the Opry Mills Mall and even shopped. I found some really good children stores there so had to pick up a few things. There were some good stores but I did not take the time to shop. We attended the Grand Ole Opry and saw John Conlee, Chuck Wicks (who sings Cinderella), Pam Tillis, Eric Church, Terri Clark and the Best of All "Little Jimmy Dickens". He was a hoot and the cutest little thing. He is 87 years old and could still put on a good show. We really enjoyed the Grand Ole Opry. The next day we figured we had seen about all we needed to so head back to Kim and Scott;s house. We all went to Canton the next day. Believe it or not, I only bought a purse and that is all. We all went to the Paint Horse Show and watched the Freestyle Reigning Sat night and Donald and I headed on back to Olney.

We arrived in Abilene Friday night, but had to stop and pick up Morgan first. Jason said she was adamant about us picking her up to go to the campground. Kim and Scott stopped by for a visit to the Johns house to see Kennedy. Donald even ran into Ashley and Jordan at their family reunion on Jordan's side of the family there at the state park we were camping at. Saturday morning we cooked breakfast tacos and Morgan was ready to go swimming. There was a nice pool there so we stayed for a couple of hours. Morgan swam non stop the whole time. We enjoyed a long nap then began the night meal. Morgan helped Kim cut up the potatoes for the fries. She asked me if she was still a farmer?????? Jason and Whit came to the camp for supper and we headed for the Fandangle. Morgan really enjoyed it. She stood by her PaPaw or sat in his lap the whole time. We took Kim and Scott to Perinis the next day and Whit and Jason met us there. Morgan enjoyed the longhorns and trying to feed them some grass. She even put on a little dance on the stage. Kennedy was just a sleeping angle the whole time. It was a great weekend.

Morgan decided to come home with us Sunday afternoon when we left Abilene. I was totally surprised she would leave her baby "Sissy". I want to share a few pictures of Morgan and her activities during her visit. Morgan stayed with Mondie Monday while I went to work. She played with the dogs, went swimming in the little pool and got "dirty". She took a 2 hr nap with her 4 babies. She had a good time and kept Mondie entertained. Tuesday Morgan went to Autumn's house and went to VBS. I picked them up and we all went to Subway for lunch and Autumn stayed at the house that afternoon with her. Well the fun began when I got home from work. We ate and then tried to get the yard mowed. Morgan played out on the back porch with the "Little School House" and shoe boxes made into houses. We made rock roads and had to put shrubs around the shoe box houses. Her mom spent many an hour playing with that little school house and the little people in it. Don't know why, but kids just love getting those old toys down that belonged to their parents. Morgan had been begging to ride Blaze so Donald got him saddled and rode him for awhile then let Morgan ride. It is funny to hear her say is he still "juicy"? That's what we would say, that he is still a little juicy so he has to be ridden down some more. She rode with her PaPaw and then she wanted to ride by herself. I led Blaze and Donald walked beside her to hold onto her leg. We finally convinced her that Blaze was tired. Hum???? She wanted to give him a bath, so we did. She loved washing him and brushing his mane. She fed Blaze and Ida all by herself. Morgan said, can I pretend these are my horses? I told her, Morgan they are your horses. She loves them so much and would just pet and pet them. We rode the Ranger in the pasture and she loved that. We even drove up on a skunk and had to run him off. Morgan drove her little jeep up and down the road, ran up and down the rode, enjoyed her popsicle that MaMaw brought down to her and then she stripped off and played in the water hose while I finished up in the yard. She was definitely tired and feel asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Wed morning she stayed with MaMaw till time for VBS. I picked her up at noon and headed to Wichita Falls for my ortho appointment. She took a nap on the way. I took her by to see her old house in WF. We went to the Children's Place and bought a couple of "comfy suits" and some new flip flops that were on sale for $1.99. We were suppose to meet Whitney and Jason at Ft. Griffin that evening. Well, Morgan had already started in that Morgan not wanting to go home. When her parents drove up she started screaming, I don't want to go home. That always makes me sad when she cries. Jason said she would be fine so they left. (I only got a short peek at Kennedy). Whit said she cried for 30 minutes. We definitely had fun and it sure seemed quite when we got home. I am so glad we got to spend time together and I hope that we can always leave special memories for our grand children to remember us by. I love you Miss Morgan and am glad you came to visit.
