We Had A Blast!

Donald and I left for Abilene Friday night and went to Ashley and Jordan's. When we arrived, Lacey had her little skirt on that I had made for her. We all had a nice meal out at Perennie's. Donald and Jordan did a little hunting talk before bedtime then we turned in for the night. The next morning Ashley and I headed out on our long awaited trip and to do a photo shoot with a family there in Aledo. Jordan went hunting and Donald went with Whitney to the ACU/Tarleton game.

Ashley and I had so much fun together. Of course the first store we hit was Stein Mart and I walked out empty handed. I told Ashley that was not a good sign for me that day. We moved on and went to Francesca's and then went into a few other little stores there in that little strip. Hey, Chili's has the Carribean Salad back again. Ashley and I split one for lunch and it was great. We then went to DSW shoes and both came out empty handed. It is not easy to find shoes in a size 5. We hit the Hulen Mall next and then again Ashley did well. I finally found a few things but hate to say they were cardigans. I know, I know I always buy the same ole things but they were cute ones from Express. I did find a cute top and leggings at New York and Co and Ashley found some cute things there and we even had a 25% off coupn so that was good. As we started to leave I found the cutest red leather look jacket at Dillards. I had a gift card from there so the extra cost did not seem like so much damage to me when I paid out. We shopped and shopped and Ash got several of her Christmas gifts bought too. Ok, Ashley is starting to get tired. I can still out last all my girls. Ha! We finished up and I wanted to run back to Steinmart to get a shirt there to go under something I had bought so I ran in and Ashley sat in the car and found directions to OutBack from her dad. We shared a steak and of course a "SMALL" order of cheese fries. We drove back to Weatherford and got a motel room there. We decided we wanted to take all of our bags in so we could see what we had so I ran into the lobby to get one of those little cart things ??????, we loaded it down and I was the one pushing it in but lo and behold when we get ready to go in the door I could not get it to go over that little bump in the door and this guy was behind us and Ash was about to wet her pants and we were laughing so hard. I know that guy probably thought we had just had tooooo much to drink. I told him I am sorry but we have shopped way too long today. He was still behind us going to the elevator and we were still laughing. By that time, he was laughing too and when he left he told us to have a good evening. We finally make it to the room with that cart and decide we would defintely not be hired as a bell boy. Ha! You know how you are when you get tired, you just laugh and laugh and that was what we were doing. We got our pj's on and took a look at what we had found for the day. Needless to say, Ash found a lot more than I did but I am pretty pleased with what I did find.

6:30 the next morning came early because Ashley had a photo shoot planned for around 8:00 the next morning. Those went great. Scott, Kim, and Cooper met us also for another photo session. We had lunch with them and had planned to go to Deorator's Warehouse but decided we would be too late getting back to Abilene and then I would have to drive to Olney. Guess we will have to do one another time.

I told Ashley we will have to make this a "Yearly" thing. I think this is actually the first time since she has gotten married that just the two of us have gone on a little weekend trip together. I really enjoy the one on one time with each daughter. They all need that one on one time and I feel less pulled when I can give total attention to one. Ash and I are a lot alike. We are very serious most of the time and tend to clam up when we are in a group of people or even two or three, but just one on one we are a barrel of fun. I can defintely say that I had a "GREAT" time Ashley and enjoyed every minute of our time together. I do have to apologize for falling asleep on you on the way home today...ooops sorry!

I would love to make this a yearly thing if you would like to, so when you get ready just give me a call. Thanks for asking me to go and I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!

Tired Hunter Heads Home

Donald is finally on his way home from Wyoming after two weeks of hunting for elk and antelope. Robert sent me this picture from his computer this morning so thought I would share. I am sure it was a cabin full of men cutting some zzzz's. Notice how he has all his gear all out in order for the next morning on the bunk above him.

I will post pictures later from his trip when I get his camera. I just thought this one was funny so thought I would share it.

Cooper's 1st Birthday!

This last weekend, we celebrated Cooper's 1st birthday. A Cowboy Party was the theme and Kim made him a little pony cake. It was so cute and the table decorations all turned out great. Ashley, Jordan, Whitney, Morgan and Kennedy all made the trip along with MaMaw, Ganna and PaPaw.

It didn't take Cooper long to demolish his cake but he never ate a bite of it I don't think. He was a mess as you can see in the pictures. All of the kiddos got so excited when it was time to open gifts and all wanted to help out. It was a little wild.

The party was planned for outside but mother nature had a different plan and it started to rain so Kim and Scott had to set up everything in the garage. The kids enjoyed a little bit of playing out in the rain and riding in Cooper's new wagon.

Well Happy Birthday Little Guy. We love you very much.

If That Isn't Love....

A few weeks ago Donald and I headed to Abilene for one of the ACU games. As we turned the corner to Whit and Jason's house, there stood Morgan waiting at the curb for us. She was so excited to see us and then we looked up and there stood Kennedy at the glass door jumping in excitement when she saw us. Now if that doesn't make you feel loved I don't know what does. It makes you feel so good when they are so glad to see you. I just had to share how that made Donald and me both feel.

I have included some pictures of another weekend when mother and I took Morgan and Kennedy to Chuck E Cheese while Donald and Whitney went to the ACU game. I think the girls really enjoyed it. Mother and Kennedy were pooped out after that little trip so mother stayed at the house and got Kennedy in bed and Morgan and I went on to finish watching the second half of the game. It was a busy night playing with the girls and all, watching the game and then bringing home Lacey for a week while Ashley and Jordan were at the State Fair.

Weekend Happenings

This weekend, ACU played in Dallas at the Cottonbowl so Whit and the girls came to Olney on Friday night. We had a birthday dinner for MaMaw's 73rd birthday. Of course the girls were ready to head outside to see the horses. Kennedy headed for the little jeep so she and Morgan both got in for a tight fit and headed to the barn. Morgan was begging to lead K.C. around. Donald just started halter breaking him last week and he is doing very good. As you can see by the pictures, Morgan helped lead him around and was able to pet him. Kennedy had fun roaming around and sitting on the lawn mower and ranger.


We left out early Saturday morning and met Kim and her crew at PF Chang in Arlington for lunch. That was wild since the kids were all loose in the booth since we could not have high chairs because of fire safety rules! Morgan, Kennedy and Cooper were all beating on the table with the chop sticks. The food was great (even the bananna dessert we got)even though it was a little wild. We celebrated Kim's birthday since we were not there on Sept. 4th. Happy Birthday Kim!

We all headed back to Kim and Scott's house with it pouring down rain. Whitney and Donald went on to the game at the Cottonbowl. By the way ACU won! Kim and I decided we would just stay at home and keep the kids because of the rain. They had a ball playing and were all so cute together. Kennedy kept trying to be miss mother hen to Cooper.

We left out early this morning so we could get back home for a funeral of a dear friend, Harold Stewart. Please keep his family in your prayers in the coming days.
We drove in rain the whole way home and it has continued to rain most of the day. Whitney and the girls headed on back to Abilene around 1:15 and the girls slept for the last hour of the trip. I am so thankful for the safe trip home for everyone.

Thanks Scott and Kim for letting us spend the night there. Enjoyed seeing you all and playing with little Cooper.
