Leighton Turns "One"

Leighton's first birthday was a big success I would have to say.  The party decorations, little cake, cupcakes and all were just perfect.  I think Leighton really enjoyed her cake but as you can see above, I think she was all done.The  grandparents got her a little pink kitchen set that she can enjoy for several years and hopefully play for hours with.  All of her little guest were really into the gift opening as you can see.  Happy first birthday Miss Leighton.  We enjoyed it and look forward to many, many more.  Also, thanks Ashley for putting together the video, don't know what I will do when I watch one when she is eighteen because I cried and she is only one. :)

Kim's Baby Shower

Kimberly's baby shower turned out fun and everyone on our side of the family was able to be there and enjoy the day together.  Cooper got a little gift too because we didn't want him to feel left out.  It was a fun day and Cooper even got in a little experience in on feeding Leighton. Ha!  Thanks for the pizza Kim at lunch, it was great.  Glad we got to share this special day with you.

Most Awesome Concert Ever!

This weekend was totally awesome.  We left Saturday morning and stopped in Wichita Falls and picked up John and Shannon and headed to Wichita, Kansas for the George Strait concert with Martina McBride.  We had great seats and each performed right in front of us and came down the isle right beside us.  Both of them put on a great concert that lasted for three and a half hours.  Martina is so cute and little and has just a great voice and just beautiful songs and seems like a really good person.  George came on and walked down the isle right by us.  He may be getting older but he is still awesome.  He sang "All My Exes Live In Texas" which brings back a lot of memories to me because my girls spent many an hour outside in the front yard with their guitars, microphone and red boots on playing the George Strait sisters and singing that song.  I totally enjoyed the concert and being able to see up close for once.  The highlight of the evening was after he had gone off stage and everyone had kept clapping for him to come back on, he came down the aisle and I got to shake his hand.  Now that was awesome, and I totally acted like a teenage in excitement.  What a great weekend it was, seeing the concert and getting  time to share with good friends too.  It will be a weekend that I will remember for a long time to come!

Ft. Worth Stockshow and Parade

We just had the best time, or atleast I did at the parade and rodeo with three out of four of our grandkids.  Next year Leighton we will have to take you along with us.  I think all of the little ones enjoyed it too and they were all little troopers and just little angels all day long even though I know they were tired by the end of the day.  I think PaPaw was the most tired of all after pulling them around in the wagon all day.  They got to play like they milked a cow, see the baby animal farm and walk thru the barns.  Kennedy wasn't having anything to do with those longhorns so that is why she was not in the wagon for the pictures.  The saw Elsie and her baby calf and we went to a working cow horse show and all had corn dogs for supper.  Now what a deal, $27.00 for all of us to get a corn dog and we had our own drinks.  They were pretty worn out but still had the energy to sing "Here we are singing in the kitchen" as loud as you could sing as we were leaving out of the stockgrounds.  It was so cute and just melted my heart.  As we got to the exit there were tunnels of lights so they had to run thru those and there were water fountains and I was afraid they were about t run thru those but they just ran around them.  They got in the car and I thought sure they would crash but lo and behold they made it home wide awake.  I could not have asked for any better day.  I hope you little ones enjoyed it as much as I did and I want you to know, it wasn't the parade or the stock show that I enjoyed, it was YOU!  I never heard so many oohs and awhs over you all....all day long.

This was the next morning at Kim and Scott's house, they were a little tired and grumpy that day so we made it a short day with lunch and headed home.  Thanks Kim and Scott for letting us stay the nights there.  The kiddo really enjoyed seeing each other and had fun together.  There was not a cross word out of any of them all day Saturday.  I have to say the were PERFECT!
