The rig: Pickup, camper trailer and jeep
We met Whitney and Jason in Throckmorton on Saturday at noon to pick up the girls to head out for vacation. They were excited about the trip. We were not sure how Kennedy would handle the drive so we decided to break the drive up and we drove to Amarillo and stopped the first night. We set the trailer up and went to the Big Texan for dinner that night. It was late and we had to wait a while to be seated. I can definitely say they ate good that night. I think they ate almost all of my steak and chowed down on PaPaw's too. The next day we drove to Red River and spent the night there since Fun Valley was filled up and they said they would have some openings the next day. (They do not take reservations). We made it into Fun Valley after lunch the next day. The girls made the trip great. Morgan told me, Gana you get to be kinda like a mom this week and I said I sure do. It was great, and to hear those little voices calling me Gana all week just warmed my heart. Needles to say, I did not get to sleep any while we traveled this time. Ha! We got the trailer all set up and while we were there we went down to the river and waded in it , threw rocks in it, went fishing and Morgan even caught 7 fish. Kennedy had one to the bank and we lost it. We rode the paddle boats, fed the ducks, cooked smores and had a big mess with them. We loaded up in the jeep one day and went jeeping to the top of the mountain, had a picnic, climbed the mountain and even got in a little snow storm. We looked for deer and elk and saw some! At night we would go to the little street dance or get together and have fun doing the chicken dance or whatever else and meeting new friends. We headed back home on Thursday and stopped back in Amarillo to break the trip up coming home. We went swimming for a bit but the water was too cold for Gana. The next day we headed on into Olney. It was nice to be home even though we enjoyed our trip. The girls enjoyed doing their usual fun things at the house and helped with the horses and the garden. Their mom and dad came thru to Olney Sunday afternoon to pick them up. I think they were glad to see them since they had been away from them for over a week. They were really good and never got homesick as far as I know. They were little troopers the whole trip. Thanks for going along with us Morgan and Kennedy. We will do this again sometime and maybe Cooper will go with us the next time around. I will cherish these memories forever and just hope that I will be able to make memories like these with all of grandkids someday.
because of the rain.

It was a little cool there at night.

Street dance with DJ there

Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast

Gana the cook, thank goodness for the cap (bad hair & no makeup)

Kennedy screaming with Morgan's shoes on.

In the jeep and ready to go fishing (there in the campground)

Some serious fisherman here!

PaPaw and the girls with "his elk"??????

Paddle boating

Feeding the ducks

Running, running, running

Enjoying the singing

Enjoying the song and dance and new friends

Morgan climbing the mountain side

PaPaw and Kennedy going down the mountain side

Kennedy running in the meadow

Having a little picnic on the mountain

Looking for elk

See the cloud coming up...

Kennedy found a little chair in the tree

The snow we got into going down the mountain

This is the Big Lacey Dog we ran into at Creed

Having smores after hot dogs with new friends

Oh what a mess!

Two tired girls after a big day

The long road to home

Riding home but still making it fine.

Sacked out for awhile on the way home.
