Ok, Miss Whitney, the dress and pants are on their way to you on Monday. Hope these turned out like you wanted them to. I sure HOPE that they fit! I finished up these other two outfits tonight. Sorry it took me so long to get to them, but maybe they can still wear them a few times before it gets cold.

So Proud To Call You Mine....

This is a picture of Ashley and Jordan and their "Little" at the bowl-a-thon to raise money for the Big Brother/Big Sister organization. I am so proud of you two for the hours of work and dedication that you all put into this program. Thank you for taking time out to mentor to a young man who lost his dad and to thousands of other children that just need a mentor in their lives. May God bless you two for the difference that you are making in a child's life.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to contribute to this great organization so that a difference can be made in these children's lives.

Weekend Happenings

Friday after work, we hooked up to the travel trailer and took it to Perrin Tx to Mitchell's RV park. Ashley and Jordan were using it for a weekend campout with friends from their small group at church. We met their friends there and they seem like a really nice group of young adults. We went back Sunday after church to pick up the trailer. I think they had a "blast" as Morgan would say. It is so much fun to have a group to camp with and fellowship with. I am happy that they have made new friendships with such nice couples. We were glad for Ashley and Jordan to be able to use the trailer also. I brought Lacey home with me for the weekend since it would be easier if they did not deal with her while camping. I got one picture of them today before they left.

At church today, Peyton got my glasses out and put them on. I just happened to have my camera in my purse so I snapped a picture of him. He is a funny little guy.

Donald got a new fan put up for MaMaw and I finally got a flower arrangement made for her that I had been promising to do for her bedroom. She is all fixed up now I believe. We will head out to Dallas Thursday after I get off from work and she will have surgery on Friday morning. Please keep her in your prayers that the surgery goes well.

Garden Vegetables and Mock Apple Pie

I tried a new recipe tonight for Mock Apple Pie. You can use zucchini instead of apples and with the zucchinni producing like it is I defintely need something to use it in. It was actually pretty good and really did taste almost exactly like apple pie. I have been making zucchini bread too which is really, really good.

Tonight when I picked the garden I found a twin yellow squash. I also found two large zucchini squash that I guess had been missed when the garden was last picked. They are so hard to see on the vines that I am always missing some. I got quite a bit of okra too. Thank goodness I have been seeing the kids so I have been able to give them a lot of these vegetables.

Thought I would take a picture of the vegetables that I picked just tonight and the funny squash. Also got a picture of the pie before we cut into it.

Mock Apple Pie:

4-4 1/2 cups zucchini slices
1 cup sugar
4 tbsp lemon juice ( 1 large lemon)
1 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp flour
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp cornstarch
Peel and remove seeds from squash and cut in slices. Mix the rest of the ingredients. Place into pie crust.

Apple Crumb Topping
1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
Blend together until butter is the size of peas. Place over pie filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 mintutes.

Wondering Why I Have Not Updated Lately? See why!!

This is a really long post but as you can see alot has been going on this last month. I thought I definitely had these pictures going in the right order but they are backwards on the events. Oh well guess I was lucky to just get them all on there.



First of all we celebrated Father's Day. Kim, Scott and Cooper came down since they had not been here the last couple of years for Father's Day. Kim and Cooper ended up staying the week with us since Scott was going to be in Canada for the whole week. We enjoyed having them and getting to bond with Cooper. He is a sweet baby and all boy. Whit and the girls came down on Friday and they all went swimming. It was a little wild around here but I missed out on alot of it since I had to work. Morgan called me on the phone and said she really really missed Be Be (think she was afraid to ask me if she could go to BeBe's house instead of staying here with me). I asked her if she was wanting to go home with Kim and she said yes. So, Donald took Kim, Cooper and Morgan to meet Scott Friday night. Whitney left for Abilene and Kennedy stayed here with me. Jason and Whit were planning a anniversary get a way for the weekend and would pick Morgan up on the way back. We got a chance to bond with Kennedy a lot that weekend since it was the first time we had kept her by herself. She is a little sweetie and we got some cute pictures of her. We met Whit and Jason in Mineral Wells Sunday night for them to get Kennedy.



Ok, now to get the trailer ready for our trip to Palo Dura Canyon and to see Texas. I was busy all week cleaning the trailer out, getting everything loaded and menu made out and groceries bought. We left out on Friday morning and went to Abilene to meet up with the kids. It was very hot at the canyon but the show "Texas" was great. Morgan really liked it. We got ready to head home Sunday and Donald and Gary were heading on to Colorado to fly fish. Well low and behold we could not all fit in the tahoe and Jordan and I rode home in Gary's little pickup. Morgan had to have Aunt Ashley with her. Hey Jordan, thanks for getting me back to Abilene. I kept Lacey for the week because Ash and Jordan were going to Jamacia. So it was just me and Lacey for the week.



I have really been working a lot in the yard and trying to keep the flowers growing and keep it green before vacation. The garden is producing lots of vegetables so that keeps me busy just keeping up with that. Donald has been busy building a small barn and fence to divide the pasture for the horses. I had to paint the frame of the barn and still have to get the fence post painted.



While Donald was gone I had a lot of work to get caught up on around the house before we left for Guadlaupe River Resort in Kerrville. I had to clean the trailer and re pack it for the next trip. Donald and I left out Sunday morning and stayed one night at the campground before Kim , Cooper and Scott arrived the next morning. Whit, Jason and the girls got there that afternoon. Morgan immediately made friends and had a blast playing there. We cooked out, went swimming and sat in the big swings under the trees. It was not too bad under the shade and we enjoyed some good ole outside visiting. The whole crew all went to SeaWorld for part of the day. The kids were all little troopers. I don't think we heard a cry out of any of them. Even the little ones loved it all. Whit, Jason and Morgan went back for a second day and we kept Kennedy there with us. Cooper and Kennedy became the best of friends. They were so cute together. Whit and Jason were going home Wed night but Morgan decided she needed to stay with us...so she did. We all loaded up Friday morning and headed home. Morgan spent the rest of the weekend with us and loved being at the house playing. She even talked PaPaw into saddling Blaze for her to ride. Sunday she decided she might need to stay for another week but we explained that we had to go back to work on Monday. We met Jason at Ft Griffin Sunday and Lacey went home too. I called Ashely to ask her if Lacey was excited to see her and she said "no". I am sure Lacey enjoyed staying at MaMaw's and getting totally spoiled while we were gone.



It was a fun month and guess it is time to get back to work now. Thanks MaMaw for taking care of the horses, garden and my flowers while we were gone. Oh yes, thanks for keeping Lacey too.
